A Grove of Trees
I cannot believe I started this piece back in May! However, I am happy to report that it is finished. I completed the coldworking on Tuesday evening and the slump firing in the kiln on Wednesday.
I am really drawn to this color scheme. It's abstract, yet I find the subtle colors define that feeling of a grove of trees. Hope you enjoy it.
Happy creating!

Kathleen, This is gorgeous. I love seeing the light shine thru it into the shadow. Please tell your husband the photo is perfect. I get a great sense of the beauty and the nuances of this work of art. -Don
Oh it's lovely Kathleen! I love the colors as well -- very subtle and calming:)
Wow what a beautiful piece Kathleen! The colors are great!
I love it! I had woods in my backyard and this looks just like when you're walking and can see the light peeking inbetween the trunks and leaves
Hi Don. I so value your feedback on my work. Yes I too love the way the light shines through this...Dan takes special care to photograph these pieces this way. I shared your compliment with Dan on his photograph of it too. Both of us thank you.
Thanks Shay. I always look forward to hearing from you!
Hi Lori! Yay, I'm so happy you were able to leave a comment. And thanks for your kind words.
Hi Sophie. Thank you! I'm just tickled that it reminds you of the woods.
It's beautiful! And, phew! :)
Sometimes I know I lose my inspiration if I wait too long.
Thanks Karen! Boy do I understand....it was ready, just waiting for coldworking and too many things got in front of me working on it. I still have Arrow in the Forest to finish and it's almost ready to go back into the kiln to slump. Pictures of it coming soon. :D
It's beautiful and I think it has a wonderful retro color scheme/geometric look to it, wonderful!
Hi Kathleen, Wow, this is Gorgeous!! Well worth the time. Love the colors and stripes. Where can we go to see it?
Thanks for the buzz on Celeste's site, too!
Thanks Diane! I appreciate your comment very much.
Hi R! My pleasure to mention you for others to find the great advice on your blogs. I am very hopeful this piece will be accepted at the Lines into Shapes Show in Estes Park. The notices go out on 8/14 and I will let you know if it is accepted. If not there, then it may go to Coyote Creek. Thanks so much for asking; I am flattered that you would like to see it in person.
Yes - I remember commenting on this piece back in May - great to see it finished - it certainly is splendid! I love the colour scheme - it has a very calming feeling.
