Flamboyant

Part of my new Brilliance Collection, this is one of my latest crinklized dichroic pendants, Flamboyant! For this piece I used 20 gauge square Argentium silver wire. And I also twisted some of the wire to add a more delicate touch to this piece. The glass is part of CBS Dichroic puzzle pattern and has more of a gold and salmon coloration.

Currently, I am revamping my Etsy store and will be adding this as one of my new pieces.

This is one of the pendants that I worked on last night with my new Lindstrom Rx pliers. I so enjoy tools and ones that are designed and work well are my favorites. I quickly took to these new pliers, so much so that all of my new wire wrapping tools will be Lindstroms. I purchased their ergonomic model (the Rx) and they have the greatest feel and touch of any pliers I've used since I've started wire wrapping. If you are looking for a great price on Lindstrom pliers, check out Urban Maille. They have a great website, beautiful chain maille, and wonderful customer service too!

Etsy Redefine Your Style Showcase Today

I purchased another showcase spot with Etsy. Today I'm in the Redefine Your Style Showcase. In this screen shot, I clicked on my item, a pendant called Twilight Begins, so you can see how it pops out into a little larger display with information about it. I liked the idea of wrapping this one so that the emphasis was placed on an more horizontal plane than vertical.

If you have a chance, check out the showcase as I think there are lots of interesting items.

Etsy Celebrations and Glamour Showcase Today

Today, I'm in one of Etsy's Showcases. This one is called Celebrations and Glamour. I took this screen shot this morning where I'm featuring one of my larger wire wrapped pendants, "My Lady". Throughout the day, I will probably change out which pendent will be my main item, but I thought I would start out with this one to keep with the theme. There's LOTS of gorgeous stuff in this showcase today, so I think it's well worth a look.

I decided it was time to purchase a couple of these time slots in Etsy and see what happens. I've been reading their blogs and feature articles about Etsy success stories and it seems that these showcases help promote your business. So I'm going to continue to try this approach for a while and see what happens. Wish me luck! :)

One of Today's Projects

Sometimes I think I have too many irons in the fire. It was a busy day of creativity and I felt totally immersed at times. LOVE IT!

One of today's projects was the painting of the branches and the leaf outlines for the big bowl in my Aspen Branch Series. I took a picture of it after the painting was complete and I was getting ready to fire the kiln so the paint would fuse to the glass. I found myself being less timid with the painting process and the effects that I added to the leaves. I'm happy with the results and hope they look good when the firing is complete. If I like the results, then tomorrow I will do the slump of this into the mold and it will become part of my update portfolio. I've considered that I may need to tweak the lines some if I'm not satisfied with how they look, and that would mean another firing...delaying the slumping part for a day.

I'm continuing to work on hearts. I'm focusing on wire wrapping them at this time and they will go out to my Esty store. Next weekend, I purchased a spot for their Valentine's showcase. This is the first time I've tried this avenue to get noticed on Etsy and I've read mixed results from people who have done that. So, I will see how it works and do my best to have plenty of hearts if there is a big demand for them.

And I even managed to do some house work today; not one of my favorite activities, but I love the results.

New Pendants

A Solitary Rose ~ Amulet

I've been experimenting and these are part of my new series, Talismans and Amulets. I think they are kind of fun because I see different shapes in the glass. Over active imagination I guess! I would always look for shapes in clouds (actually I still do that), so why not glass! Some of these remind me of hieroglyphs.

They're available at my Etsy store if anyone has any interest for Christmas gifts.

My First Sale on Etsy!

The orange/rust pendant is titled "Blaze".

The other is titled Ocean Sunset, because I can envision the sun setting with the trace of yellow in the 'sky line' with the ocean in the foreground.

A friend from Art Scuttlebutt, Gerry, was my very first customer on Etsy. His wife, Sue, loves my jewelry so he purchased some of her Christmas gifts from me. I'm so touched. He said she wouldn't tell him which of the pendants she wanted so he selected these two for her. I gift wrapped them and shipped them yesterday.

What fun!

P. S. I have photos to download and post on my work in progress on Milo's Peace Offering. That stained glass window has really started to come together. I re-did a couple of pieces to try to capture more of the feel of her painting. I'll work on getting the update posted early this week.

It's taken me a while, but my Etsy store is open for business. I hope you'll check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks!
