Another completed piece. I entered "Growing Love" in the Manhattan Arts HerStory2009 call for submissions. I'm very happy with the way this turned out. Now we'll see if they like it well enough to accept it in the online show. I don't think I'll find out until June.
No matter what happens, I had fun creating this one.

Kathleen, this looks good enough to eat! Seriously, this is very fine. They'd be crazy not to accept it!
Aawww, thanks Elizabeth...you are so sweet. :)
Absolutely stunning piece! If I was a juror, you would be in for sure. I wish I could figure out how you create these amazing works of art.
Thanks Leslie! You are so very kind. I marvel at your painting abilities. I'll do some more works in progress to show how I put these pieces together.
As with all of your work, I love this one, too! Whether it gets accepted or not, and I think it will, it is a winner :)
Thank you Sandy...that means a lot to me.
lovely lovely piece. i love how thick it is, and it does look good enough to eat great colors, stripes, wonderful! good luck!
It's gorgeous! I believe you have a winner either way.
Thank you Christine! I've become a real fan of doing thick pieces.
Hi Sheila. Thank you and I agree, I think it's a great piece no matter what happens.
I LOVE this piece! Makes me think of candy! Until your studio shots about your process, most non-glassists wouldn't know or appreciate all the work that goes into a thick piece. Hope your piece is juried into the show!
Well they better accept it! Let us know what happens. It's got that fantastic structure vs. looseness quality going on in a big way.
Also it was great to get a peak inside Coyote Creek studios!
HI! Thanks for coming over to check out my blog! How are you doing?

Thanks Karen, I love your sentiment on this one! I do hope it will be accepted and yes I will post no matter what the outcome. Glad you enjoyed a peak into Coyote Creek. :)
This does look like a yummy piece of candy! I like how the stipes curve and flow around the pink shape. And the black squiggles are a great contrast to the lines. I'm sure you'll get in!
Hi Kathleen, if they don't they have no taste. It's beautiful!!!!
Beautifulllll!!!Very nice!
Thank you Marta & welcome to my blog!
