Hues of Nature - Complete

Hues of Nature is finished! I just love how it turned out. Dan made sure to photograph it so the light comes through the transparent glass in the piece and I think that effect is really cool.

It took a while and I definitely feel it was worth the work and the wait.

It will be one of my pieces that will be available at Coyote Creek Art in a couple of weeks.

The photo of this is great. I love how the color shows through the glass onto the table. Very nice piece.

Oh Wow, Kathleen - that is a lovely lovely bowl - I want to touch it! Is it smooth or ripply?

Wow! I love the thick, smooth edge to go along with all of that striping. And I really think the photo is effective.

Gorgeous Kathleen! Like Kristin I want to touch it! I love the beveled edge, and Dan really made those streaks of light work for the shot.

Thanks Linda.

Hey Susanne, yes, the color showing through the glass is one of my favorite effects of this piece. Thanks.

Hi Kristin. Thank you. The surface is actually smooth, although it retains that wavy effect. :)

Thank you Elizabeth. Yes, I think Dan did a great job with the photo. I'll tell him about your comments.

Hi Deborah. Thank you. Yes, Dan held a light over the top of the bowl so it would pass through the transparent sections. He's quite the photographer! :)

This is really spectacular. It's interesting to see it without those edges that I liked so much in the in-process version....because it still retains that organic vs. structured quality without them. Just gorgeous!

WOW that's realy amazing. I love the light coming through in the picture

I was realy curious to see how the thick piece would look finished in the bowl shape. I realy like how the lines got wavy, it gives it a natural organic look

Thanks Sophie! :)

I think my niche is in the natural, organic area. Really appreciate your feedback.

Ooo, I agree, seeing the light reflecting through the glass shows off the beautiful colors very well. I've heard that these types of glass bowls are very difficult to make (though I have no idea how it's done). The end result is beautiful however, very nice job!

Kathleen, This is beautiful. I can just imagine the work that went into creating this work of art. And the photo is excellent.

Thank you Don. It does take time, but I get in a zone when I'm working on this type of bowl and that makes it a pretty enjoyable process for me. :)
