"A Little Bit Of Twilight"

A few weeks ago, a friend approached me about donating a piece of my work for a silent auction at the school her daughter attends. The purpose of the auction is to help raise money for the art department because teaching art isn't deemed as something worthy of funding. The parents still want their children to learn art. Not only does that inspire creativity, but it also helps them with their other studies.

Of course I said yes and this is the piece I'm donating. I call it "A Little Bit of Twilight".

How sad is that, art is not important enough to teach. Not surprising, but sad. It's good to be a part of something like that auction, and I hope good things come from it.

Beautiful! I love how the wrap forms a star. And a wonderful cause. I think art and music are very important for kids. Studies show that kids to take art and music do better in their other classes. Plus if it wasn't for my school art class I would never have known how much I love to do crafts

Thank you all.

I agree, it is so unfortunate that art isn't deemed worthy as part of ones education. It is so important.

The fundraiser is the end of this month and hopefully I can report a great success came from all of the donations.

Kathleen,
Thanks for visiting my blog! Your work is absolutely beautiful and I love that you are willing to donate some of your art for a wonderful cause. Times are tough these days and we all need to do what we can to preserve our education system. You are very talented!

Lovely piece that you're donating. I think it's wonderful that you're doing that. When I was a kid I always looked forward to art class. It was a bright spot In my week. Have you ever considered making earrings?

Hi LSaeta,
Thanks for dropping by and for you kind words about me.

Hi Janelle,
I'm with you, when I was a child, I loved art class. I have made a few earrings...they present challenges for me and I'm working through that. I hope to have more earrings this year. Thanks for asking.

I have to add that I second the earrings!
